The Rescue Diver Course is an important step when it comes to expanding the knowledge and experience of every diver. This course doesn’t only learn you to look at yourself but also to think about the safety and well being of other divers.
The Rescue Diver Course is actually an extension of the basic skills for solving problems and dealing with accidents.
What do you need to start the Rescue Diver Course?
– To have reached the minimum age of 15 years.
– To be in the possession of the Advanced Open Water Diver certificate.
– To have finished successfully the Emergency First Response Course, primary care
(CPR) and secondary care (First Aid) within the 24 months.
The course includes 2 theory lessons, 2 confined water session and 2 open water sessions.
The aim of this course is to learn to deal with emergencies and diving accidents, to provide first aid and to manage rescue operations.
The Rescue Diver Course covers the following topics:
– Self rescue and self reliance.
– How to recognize stressed divers and how to deal with them.
– Dealing with emergency equipment such as oxygen boxes.
– To rescue panicked divers.
– How to save an unconscious diver.
The Rescue Diver Course is not limited to the above, it is also handling the treatment of equipment problems, operation of oxygen delivery systems, procedures for missing divers and in-water rescue breathing.
You will learn different techniques that will enable you to help divers in case of problems.
You will start the course with the theoretical lessons through self study or in our classroom with at the end a written exam.
In confined waters, mostly a swimming pool you will learn the different rescue techniques in ideal conditions in a constructive way.
And in the open water sessions you will put all what you learned into practice in the form of rescue scenarios. These are realistic simulations of possible emergency situations where you will use all that you have learned to bring the rescue to a successful conclusion.
The Rescue Diver Course take between 3 to 4 days to complete.
The course increases a divers’ insight and improves their skills and confidence.
After completing the Rescue Diver Course you will be able to intervene in complex emergencies that sometimes occur during diving.
